The Persona of the Persona Team Member

Backstory: To determine whether you’d be fit to us and vice versa, check out this page. First, here are some writings about PhD life that give you an indication of the type of guidance given to team members. The most important is this post on how to graduate on time. See also the topical areas we’re working on. Finally, below is a characterization of the “typical” persona team member.

A Persona Team member:

  • is mature professional with industry experience
  • is interested in marketing and technology (or, more broadly, people and technology)
  • is open-minded to working with people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • is a multidisciplinary personality–happy to combine information from multiple fields (e.g., engineering, marketing, sustainability)
  • has good time management and ability to focus
  • has the ability to formulate clear goals and commit to them
  • is humble and willing to learn

Sounds like a perfect person, right? πŸ˜‰ Well, we have a GREAT team, it’s true! But we’re all “diamonds in the rough” and constantly evolving. The most important thing for us is good attitude (i.e., humble, willing to learn).

Note: this is just a typical persona team member—it doesn’t mean we would not accept people different from this profile. These are not “requirements” to join the team. We just happened to notice that we share these traits, not by design but by coincidence!
